The Struggle Is Real
When starting out with motorbikes, I’m not ashamed to admit I youtubed the hell out of them and what could go wrong (crashes, equipment failures, dropping the bike.. that kind of thing) and I had a good laugh about some of it.
It turns out that it could happen to anyone – I know that now because it happened to me.
Saunter to Saltcoats
It was meant to be a wee jaunt to Millport, but there were too many folk, and we’re all misanthropic, at best.
Catharsis at Craigdarroch
We thought it’d be a good idea to go out for a ride this weekend just to get out and because the weather was pretty good. Harkness was out with us too so I figured it shouldn’t be too wild a time as it’s still early in the year and the weather is… changeable.
Pre-Ride Checks
What to check to minimise the chances of equipment failure and breaking yourself.
Fuck around and Fred’s oot
and damn… He IS quick! Even on his Grom/Ducati.
Lollop to Lanark and Livvy
Another Winter’s day, but the weather was warm enough, and it wasn’t raining sideways, so it was time for another wee jaunt.
New Year, New Goals
A new year has arrived, and it’s still bloody freezing outside.
So naturally that meant we’re still out, but only for a wee jaunt as it is new year’s day, and my 2nd non commute on the bike since surgery. I met that lads close to home (at Bikespeed, who were closed – fair enough, as everyone deserves a break) and we took off with the idea of going North to South Queensferry and possibly the infamous Biker’s Cove (who were also closed).
Hogmanay Hijinks
7 weeks post op. No pain, excellent range of motion, and cleared to ride by my consultant. Human+ with internal accessories, and ready to ride.
Bimble to Beecraigs, Bo’ness, Bannockburn
Nearing the end of October, having just had a couple of storms roll by us, I thought I should take the bike out for a wee blast on a Sunday to make sure everything was OK with it – a short run on my own to a local country park seemed ideal.
