Hogmanay Hijinks
7 weeks post op. No pain, excellent range of motion, and cleared to ride by my consultant. Human+ with internal accessories, and ready to ride.
Bimble to Beecraigs, Bo’ness, Bannockburn
Nearing the end of October, having just had a couple of storms roll by us, I thought I should take the bike out for a wee blast on a Sunday to make sure everything was OK with it – a short run on my own to a local country park seemed ideal.
Stepping to St. Andrews
I had an errand to do in fife so I took the opportunity to have a mooch around the Kingdom of Fife (which sound like some Disney thing, filled with princess and broken wishes)… Either way I had to head to Kelty, and I asked Step if he fancied a wee run outside of the city for a bit.
Jaunt Oot Wi John
After work, I went out for a wee jaunt with John – nothing too serious – just a bit of back road bashing
Stepping out wi Step
So today was a bit unusual as I’ve been riding for just over a year and I got to actually do something worthwhile instead off back road bashing – I got to take someone out on their first ride.
Off Oot to Troon
One Tuesday an agreement was made to head out after work for a wee ride out.
How the hell was I supposed to know that meant a dozen folk and a round trip of about 150 miles? I got lucky though as my wife had decided she was happy making her own dinner that evening.
Cunting it to Cumbria
3 months since the impromptu flying lesson – the ribs are healed (generally), but the collar bone is still a little squiffy – it was time to see if I can do more than just short trips. Turns out that meant a wee jaunt to the Lake district over the course of an incredible day. Oh yes. The day started by blasting down the side of the M74, using the A roads to Ecclefechan, then through Gretna (Chris and Graham wanted to stop and do something involving an anvil, but we were on a schedule) and further south still to the Greggs in Cockermouth. One we had refuelled in Cockermouth, we header further South, deeper into the English ‘wilderness’ until…
Peregrination to Peebles
’twas a Friday afternoon and one of the lads suggested a wee jaunt out to get me to “ride it” again, I said it was unlikely to happen in one shot, but it’s worth the go anyway.
Crashy McCrashy Rides Again
A.K.A. “Watch out – potential unintended collateral damage”
West Lothian. 68 days post failed flying lesson. About as broken as I was in January.
I’m back. Kinda… If a bike could limp, mine would.
Cowped at Craigdarroch
Okay, so first thing is first.
I realise that there may be several people from my work who will see this post and website on account of what’s been going on -this website is a personal one and does not reflect the views of my employer or colleagues. There is bad language, mockery and a small amount of abuse here – it’s all tongue in cheek and those who know me, know it’s meant with a certain level of affection and not to be taken seriously.
