and damn… He IS quick! Even on his Grom/Ducati.
This time round we met up at Fred’s with the idea of going to St Mary’s Loch, but as some of the group were on call we couldn’t go too far off the beaten track so we decided to head for Leadhills for the day.
We took the road from Hamilton to Strathaven, and on to Muirkirk where we stopped off for a wee break/drink/discussion about tyres.
The road to Muirkirk was exactly what I needed – a twisting bit of A road in decent condition. It was a real confidence builder being able to chuck the bike around a bit an not worrying about running wide or taking off unexpectedly. I suspect I’ll be fighting that for a wee while, but it’ll all come together with enough practise I’m sure.

The road to Leadhills opened up before us – especially the stretch from Crawfordjohn to Leadhills.
It looked stunning in the Winter sun – I’ll need to get another picture in the summer.

We found some people out Paragliding at Cold Chapel on our way back up, and reckon we frightened them by lurking around their cars while they were grabbing some lift.
One thing that might take more practise than keeping the heid at speed though, is keeping the bike upright at low speed or grass. Fecking mud. Oh well – no real damage – only some pride and an indicator light needing replaced.

We made our way back up through Biggar and Lanark to Hamilton whereupon John decided to put his Penis on show. All 4″ of it. Illuminated.

So glad my headlight was visible. Prick,
