Another weekend, another trip. Bought a drone. Found a bush.
Nearly died (again).
It wasn’t an expensive drone, so it can’t deal with any kind of weather or wind really, so there’s no footage from it on here yet. That and the fact I have to fish it out of a bush around 30s after take off!
More practise will be needed, like with the bike, but it’s meant to have a follow me function so it’ll be interesting to see what kind of footage I get get with it following the bike at a max speed of 15mph.
We took a ride down to Thornhill again, heading down through Wanlockhead and had some scran at the local bakery where we saw the first batch of seasonal bikers this year at the chippy – great rolls if you get the chance.

Now. We left Thornhill and nearly died a few times on the next leg of the journey.
No hyperbole.
Just a stupid amount of frankly lethal potholes left in the road by Dumfries and Galloway Council this was on the Sanquhar to Crawfordjohn road and up to Glespin. Shame on you.
A gentler example of the day from my helmetcam – I hit a pothole and the bike bounced (it doesn’t show up well on the camera) and the guys I am out with hit a couple of them and it just about sent them off their bikes. Listen to their voices – does that sound like someone who feels safe or confident in road integrity?
Sort it out or you’re going to kill someone – fix the damned roads.
